I didn't notice much difference at first, but after 40 man plus raid on both sides in Wintergrasp (World of Warcraft) things were not lagging out as usual. Well it does what it claims to do, offloads network traffic onto it's own dedicated CPU freeing up the main processor. I keep mine on steady glow however, makes a nice contrast to my fan's blue LED's. Not the end of the world, but a little annoying. The only issue I seem to have is that I need to configure the app before gaming which requires a restart. Overall Review: In case anyone wants to know if it's compatible, I'm running Vista 64 bit. As far as I'm concerned, the proof is in the pudding (numbers) so if the tech was telling the truth, I should see it then. (Didn't see that on the box) I plan to play some of my other games after a reformat and then see what this does after I install it.

I called the tech and he told me that the COD code was written so well that you would typically not see gains in those areas for that game. I also don't notice lag as much as I did so I would have to say that it works, just not as well as advertised.Ĭons: Did not show one increase in frame rates and did not lower my ping. When on my favorite COD4 server, I notice a lot of people complain about lag when I am not experiencing it. The game "feels" like it's running better. Pros: It does seem to smooth out gameplay.

It would likely cause them to drop their price and increase their driver support. It's a shame that Killer NIC's don't have any similar competition.

If you already own one, please consider dropping a note in their forums requesting that they continue development on drivers for the K1/M1. You can take a gamble with Xeno, but they are likely do drop support with that NIC once they come out with a new NIC. This NIC has become a new expensive paperweight. I am now using an Intel NIC so that I can play my steam games. Overall Review: If you ever plan on upgrading to Windows 7, don't buy this card. Expensive for such a small performance increase which you probably will not notice unless torrenting and playing games at the same time. Last beta driver was from a month later, but development has stopped in favor of the newer Xeno card. Great for downloading/torrenting and playing a game lag-freeĬons: -No signs of Windows 7 driver support or future development. Will reduce your latency for games slightly
